YARD Stick One, from Great Scott Gadgets

Michael Ossmann just announced the YARD STICK One, from Great Scott Gadgets:

This week we started shipping YARD Stick One, our latest test tool for radio systems operating below 1 GHz. The first thing you should know about it is that, unlike our popular HackRF One, YARD Stick One is not a Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform. Although we think that SDR is the overall best tool for the greatest number of wireless applications, sometimes it is beneficial to have a simpler tool for certain jobs. YARD Stick One (Yet Another Radio Dongle) can transmit or receive digital wireless signals at frequencies below 1 GHz. It uses the same radio circuit as the popular IM-Me. The radio functions that are possible by customizing IM-Me firmware are now at your fingertips when you attach YARD Stick One to a computer via USB. Capabilities:
* half-duplex transmit and receive
 * official operating frequencies: 300-348 MHz, 391-464 MHz, and 782-928 MHz
 * unofficial operating frequencies: 281-361 MHz, 378-481 MHz, and 749-962 MHz
 * modulations: ASK, OOK, GFSK, 2-FSK, 4-FSK, MSK
 * data rates up to 500 kbps
 * Full-Speed USB 2.0

NSA Playset from BHB

The “NSA Playset” has been going on for a while; the latest update from Black Hat Briefings last week is worth checking out:

The NSA Playset: A Year of Toys and Tools
Michael Ossmann
Inspired by the contents of the leaked NSA ANT catalog, the NSA Playset project has produced an array of gadgets with capabilities similar to those employed by the spooks. I will review the entire collection since the start of the project. This includes new tools for USB, PCI Express, I2C, GSM, Bluetooth, and a family of RF retroreflectors for eavesdropping on a wide variety of electronic devices. Now you can play along with the NSA!
